Marketing Communications Manager                         

May 2021 — January 2022 

  • Managed the communications team to tell the story of one of San Francisco’s oldest and largest social service organizations. Conceptualized and executed integrated content marketing strategy, including newsletters, social media, paid advertising, earned media, fundraising campaigns, and event collateral.

  • Led two digital-only fundraisers, meeting and exceeding goals to bring in over $300K.

  • Led a comprehensive website redesign: managed $100K budget, completed content overhaul, managed relationships with external creative agency and internal stakeholders, and designed new features, including a blog, press page, and templates for more impactful storytelling.

  • Launched a series of digital stories highlighting St. Anthony’s drug rehabilitation center for National Recovery Month, resulting in the highest rate of social media engagement in a single month.

  • Focused on DEI hiring, mentoring, and continuous learning for our team. 

  • Implemented a Zendesk ticketing system for the communications team to streamline requests from internal partners.

  • Managed press requests and pitched stories to highlight St. Anthony’s work in local and international media. 

  • Worked cross-functionally with executive team members and internal stakeholders to ensure the accuracy of communications and integrity of the brand, including leading a biweekly meeting with program managers.

  • Wrote and edited communications across all channels, including print and e-newsletters, and social media.

  • Worked directly with the CEO to start the St. Anthony’s monthly newsletter, bringing in thousands of dollars in direct donations.

  • Owned and evolved the Foundation’s voice to align with a person-first philosophy.

  • Pitched and produced innovative digital content for American Experience, an Emmy Award-winning PBS history program, including articles, videos, graphics, and social media campaigns.

  • Commissioned and edited original work from writers, artists, and experts for the American Experience website, bringing fresh, diverse voices to a legacy brand.

  • Produced new local digital content, including a food blog, podcast pilots, and video projects in collaboration with WGBH News.

  • Curated content on the foundation’s website, while making structural updates to improve user experience and create new tools for stakeholders. Led a front-end redesign of video portal pages.
