Freelance Writer/Producer, April 2019 — Present

WGBH — Boston, MA

Digital Content Producer at American Experience, September 2016 — April 2019

  • Pitched and produced innovative digital content for an Emmy Award-winning PBS history program. I turned JFK into a comic book character, made Amelia Earhart an Instagram account, and imagined a dinner party hosted by Nicola Tesla.

  • Commissioned and edited original work from writers, artists, and experts for the American Experience website, bringing fresh, diverse voices to a legacy brand. During the summer of 2017, I managed a three-month campaign featuring iconic “songs of the summer” from 1968 to the present.

Digital Associate Producer, March 2015 — August 2016

  • Produced new local digital content, including a food blog, podcast pilots, and video projects in collaboration with WGBH News. For the 2016 Boston Marathon, my team created 26.2 digital videos in three weeks, including one that would air on television and win a New Eng- land Emmy.

  • Curated content on the foundation’s website, while making structural updates to improve user experience and create new tools for stakeholders. Led a front-end redesign of video portal pages.

  • Conducted a comprehensive content audit of wgbh.org to inform the site's redesign.

  • Gathered news, tracked down and interviewed sources, covered events, edited audio, and wrote copy for newscasts.

 

San Francisco Public Press — San Francisco, CA

Reporter, March 2014 — July 2014

  • Investigated and reported stories about solutions to San Francisco’s housing crisis for the website and print edition of a non-profit quarterly newspaper.

  • Helped orchestrate a Kickstarter campaign for bicycle delivery of newspapers, raising over double the $10,000 goal.

 

Project Bly — San Francisco, CA

Editor-in-Chief, June 2012 — March 2014

  • Crafted the voice for a brand new travel and design e-commerce site.

  • Researched the history and culture of cities around the world, relating complex stories in a clear, entertaining way to bring cities alive for readers and consumers through slideshows, product descriptions, and blog posts.

  • Managed social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

  • Updated the Project Bly website with fresh content daily.
